Because of the current Shelter in Place orders, I am conducting all therapy through telehealth.
Marriage & Family Therapist in San Mateo, CA
I like to engage the client in a range of interventions to work with anxiety and stress. I have been successful using meditation, yoga, mindfulness and visualization to heal clients, as well as art therapy, sand tray, and Brainspotting.
I have been recently certified in Brainspotting through the Pacific Trauma Center in Folsom and David Grand. Brainspotting is a fascinating intervention that works in a similar way to EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in that it works through the client's eyes to reach and heal the trauma.
I am a FOAT (Focus Oriented Art Therapy) art therapist, working with Laurie Rappaport. I have also used art therapy in my work with children and adolescents while working in elementary and high schools. .
I love to work with yoga and body movement to help clients heal from anxiety and trauma.
I have attended workshops on Sand Tray and have used it extensively in my work with children (4-13) and high school students. I have noticed that it unlocks many ideas, thoughts, and behaviors so we can work more deeply.
