About My Clients
Ever feel angry, irritable, confused, or worried and not sure why? Drink to take the edge off? Feel run down all the time? Have difficulty unwinding from work? Avoid social activities that you used to actually enjoy? Lose too much time to mindless distractions? My clients feel a renewed sense of energy, motivation and peace. As a result of working with me, my clients are able to reduce their levels of frustration, anger & stress. Their relationships improve, as do their moods and other symptoms.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Psychologist in MN with over 20 years experience working with populations that have experienced war, conflict & high stress (e.g., school shootings). I received my training at the University of Minnesota and the VA Medical Center. I previously worked in large medical system where I helped to create comprehensive programs for those suffering significant mental health symptoms. I have worked nationally and internationally, with organizational leaders, in healthcare, with husbands, soldiers, veterans, police officers, firefighters and adults with chronic medical conditions. I am both very pragmatic and non-judgemental. Evidence based meditative and relaxation practices are at the core of my approach and I help each client learn to manage their own challenges in a way is both supportive and accountable.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I also humbly serve as Medical Director for a non-profit, Minnesota Fire Initiative, dedicated to reducing the high suicide rates of Firefighters. Working with first responders is one of my biggest passions.
