My Background and Approach
I have a specialized skill set and practical experience in various interventions that I can tailor to meet your needs. I do not approach my clients with a "one size fits all" mentality. I utilize interventions stemming from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trust Based Relational Intervention, Trauma Informed Care, and others. I know this sounds nice, however therapy is a two-way street, a journey that two people will take. In order to achieve your ideal success and unlock personal growth, you have to be invested in putting in the work. I have worked in various settings such as behavioral health units, foster and adoption agencies, and organizations dedicated to assisting single mothers and adolescents. Through this experience I have learned the importance of routine coping mechanisms, the detrimental cycle of negative self-talk, the isolation of anxiety and the despair of experienced trauma. Get help and understand you are braver today because of it.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all humans have the innate ability to change, if they want to. I am mother of two young children and a wife, two roles I take very seriously. I want to raise my children in an environment where they will be treated fairly, have the same opportunities as their peers, and will not face injustice due to ignorant, narrow-minded people. I was raised to see people for who they simply were and not judge them based off of their personal preferences, this included religion, sexual orientation, race and gender. I also believe in the power of kindness and the beauty it has on people. I have made it my mission to help the homeless, donate to non-profit organizations and bring awareness to issues I am passionate about.
