About My Clients
Are you looking for a safe space to learn more about yourself? Your experiences and your response to them give my information about how you processed things even if you did not actively decide to do it that way. My goal is to help you put words and understanding to your past and make it easier to choose new ways to handle life. I ask that you be open and tell me about what is simple not working for you anymore. In return, I will help you make changes that are sustainable.
My Background and Approach
I am casual, but intentional. I celebrate successes and I am very open about what I am thinking. With me you won't be in the dark about why I ask questions. I am a resource for your life, not just for your diagnosis. Come in about trauma, stay to learn how to set boundaries and prioritize responsibilities. I want you to bring your whole self and I will be myself as well. Yes, I work with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, couples, families, etc. Mainly I get to help people see more about who they are and the why behind their actions. I also believe that you know you better than I do and together we can help you refine and reshape that information into tools that work better for you. Therapy is about taking time to figure out how you got to the place you are and then deciding what will work best to help you be in the place you want to be.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a pretty chill person. Possibly an ambivert. I really enjoy learning about how people have been living their life and I welcome learning about things I don't know. I am intuitive and I feel certain things when a person shares with me versus using book knowledge. I also have the book knowledge about mental health conditions to support how I work with others. I am visual and I can see what people are talking about... I also use analogies often to communicate what I think or feel. I aim to be a therapist that most can feel comfortable working with even if we have different backgrounds. I am not squeamish about traumatic events because I want to leave room for my clients feelings to have space to just breathe. I have a dog named Poops. I prefer solo karaoke. I've been told I'm funny.
