About My Clients
You've spent a long time figuring things out on your own. Maybe that's left you feeling stuck, disconnected, or misunderstood. As a Sarasota therapist, I work with men and women navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment issues, self-esteem, and relationship stress. A significant part of my practice supports men working through intimacy struggles, anger, and the pressure of holding it all together. I also work with men and couples looking to rebuild trust and communication.
My Background and Approach
I earned my undergraduate degree from Georgetown and my master's from Florida State University, and now practice as a Registered Clinical Social Work Intern (RCSWI) under the supervision of Paul White, LCSW. My work is shaped by an interest in how language and thought patterns influence mental health, which informs how clients reframe the stories they tell about themselves. My approach draws on several foundational frameworks: CBT for the connection between thoughts and behavior, EFT and Gottman research for relationship and attachment patterns, and psychodynamic thinking for what's beneath the surface. I work with adults across the lifespan, including older adults navigating the ups and downs of aging. I also facilitate Sarasota support groups for aging adults and for people in their 20s and 30s moving through life transitions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and empowered to show up fully for themselves and the people they love. Therapy isn't about having it all figured out. It's about becoming more honest with yourself, one session at a time. I'm especially drawn to the connection between language and mental health. The words we use to describe our lives shape how we experience anxiety, depression, and self-worth. Cognitive reframing, a core part of my approach, helps clients recognize the stories they've been telling themselves and rewrite the ones that no longer serve them. This blends naturally with evidence-based practices like CBT and mindfulness to support lasting change. I approach my work with warmth, direct honesty, and deep respect for how hard it is to shift long-standing patterns, whether that's anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship stress, or the pressure men often carry in silence. Growth doesn't require perfection, just progress and effort.
