As the client, you will be a full partner in the counseling process. Having to cope with the aftermath of a violent relationship can be very overwhelming and even dangerous. Together we will determine the best and safest options you have to not only improve your quality of life but how to thrive as an independent, proactive survivor.

You, the client, are a full partner in counseling. Your honesty and effort are essential for success. It is my belief that the majority of the “work” in counseling occurs in between sessions, as you put into practice the insights and skills you have gained from counseling. We will work together as a team to define and work toward your goals. Initial counseling sessions will focus on exploring the concerns that brought you into counseling.

Living with negative past experiences can be difficult and working together in partnership can help alleviate some of the symptoms related to your past experiences. You and I will identify appropriate objectives and develop goals.It is within the safety of the therapeutic relationship that you can begin to explore your personal challenges more deeply, connect with your own wisdom, and find the life balance you seek.

I practice client-directed, mindfulness-informed therapy by utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. I believe that you are the expert on you and that change and growth occur in a non-judgmental environment that provides a balance of challenge and support. It is within the safety of the therapeutic relationship that you can begin to explore your personal challenges more deeply, connect with your own wisdom, and find the life balance you seek.

By implementing techniques from a Person-Centered approach, you will explore answers on how to form functioning and healthy relationships. It is through the help and trust we form in the therapeutic process that you may be able to improve on yourself once you reach the point of acceptance and have the need to change. In turn, you can explore how to form healthy relationships and formulate more constructive health patterns.

As a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern, I am prepared to use evidenced-based practice to assist in your recovery process. I utilize the Stages of Change model and in conjunction to your feedback, thoughts, and experience, I manipulate the stages to ensure each stage is met with your current strengths and abilities.

Relationships can be difficult in nature. The fact that your partner has also caused emotional, physical, and/or sexual distress to you makes the process of having or ending a relationship even harder. Domestic violence does not discriminate. Anyone of any race, age, sexual orientation, religion or gender can be a victim of domestic violence. It can happen to people who are married, living together or who are dating. I'm here to listen and offer support to you.

There are moments in our lives that make us feel overwhelmed and fill us with stress. I'm trained in using Solution Focused Therapy to help you identify the stressor and identify an action plan that will help you take on the issue head on and overcome this moment in your life.

I believe that every person has the potential to be the best version of themselves. My primary goal as your counselor is to help you connect with your innate capacity for wellness and to help you attain your personal goals.

I work with clients at all stages, from those that are experiencing short-term difficulty to others who are working through life-long challenges. Waking up with sadness that is overwhelming, not looking forward to the day, and having no motivation to complete your daily tasks is an exhausting way to live. I've been there. Depression is common and it is real; my passion is to help those who are experiencing depression learn how to manage their depression in order for them to live life as the best version of themselves.
