About My Clients
My clients are very insightful, introspective people who enjoy and value learning more about themselves and the world around them. They tend to be young professionals, couples looking to transition into the next stage, or partners wanting to learn tools to better communicate, connect, and parent together. They are people looking for collaborative support and guidance while understanding that they will be challenged to reach their highest potential.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have a Master's Degree in Human Development and have many years of experience working with couples and families going through trauma, relationship struggles, and life transitions. I am also certified in one of the most effective couples therapy models in the field (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy) and am passionate about helping partners rebuild trust and safety with one another by having difficult vulnerable conversations where we risk being seen, heard, and accepted by one another. We work together in session to better understand where you learned the protective strategies (ie defenses) you use for survival when threatened in an effort to help you and your partner gain compassion towards these parts of yourself. While working towards understanding your past, we teach you tools and techniques in the present to communicate your needs in a clear more vulnerable way.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I value respect, personal growth, equality, and harmony amongst people. I am constantly looking for opportunities to advance my skill set as a clinician as well as generally expand my understanding of the world. I fully recognize that I am human and therefore imperfect and am working on gaining more compassion for myself and am passionate about helping my clients do the same. I strongly believe that everyone deserves to feel loved, seen, and accepted for who they are at their core. A sense of belonging is our birthright.
