About My Clients
I work with professionals adults who are motivated for change, insightful , intuitive and career and social justice oriented. Many come from historically marginalized backgrounds such as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and chronic medical conditions. Some also identify as Highly Sensitive people (HSP). I best serve those who have been "othered" and have conditions such as OCD and related disorders, race based trauma and/or acculturative stress, history of harrassment and trauma due to their identity .
My Background and Approach
I have specialized training in CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERT) for OCD and related disorders, power and unearned privilege, racial identity and acculturative stress. I am committed to decolonizing mental health by using a racially and culturally-responsive approach with an intersectional lens. In addition, I integrate CBT, DBT, ACT, ERT, Compassion Focused Therapy and Somatic therapies to integrate the mind and body for healing and recovery.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have a professional commitment to social justice and I do advocacy work to help the Pan-Asian and Asian-American communities, particularly during difficult times of Anti-Asian hate that has escalated since the height of the COVID pandemic. My commitment to social justice is apparent even in casual conversation in addition to formal settings. I am currently in talks with doing psychoeducational presentations and trainings on suicide prevention abroad as a humanitarian effort to address the needs for those who are marginalized and most susceptible to self-harm and dying by suicide in Nepal. I continue to learn about colorism and as a "light skinned" South Asian, offer support to those who are deemed as "dark" to spread awareness about colorism and amplify their voices.
