About My Clients
Adults typically work with me in therapy if they are dealing with symptoms of ADHD, executive dysfunction, or anxiety, if they are going through a transition in life, or if they are dealing with family of origin concerns. This will be a place where you can talk through your challenges, develop skills to cope with these challenges, & build capacity and resilience to move through life in a more regulated manner.
My Background and Approach
I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): a situation triggers a thought, which leads to feelings and behaviors. Together we will identify unhelpful patterns and practice new responses. You will learn how to rewire your brain, one pattern at a time. Other frameworks I incorporate include Narrative Therapy, which focuses on understanding your story, and Internal Family Systems or IFS, which focuses on accepting that while you are a product of your experiences you are always capable of rewiring your brain. Therapy is a place for you to share what is on your mind in any given period of time and talk through your concerns productively. Therapy can also be a mentally stimulating exploration of your life’s experiences, and a place where you feel both challenged and supported as you try new habits and skills in your daily life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
You are the expert on your life. With your expertise and my knowledge, we will create goals and make progress in therapy. Remember, your experiences might have shaped you, but they don’t define you. You are always capable of learning from them to change and grow.
