About My Clients
I work with adults navigating stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodivergence, identity questions, acculturative stress, life transitions, family/relationship conflict, and interpersonal challenges. I often work with immigrants, first generation individuals, international students, high-achieving individuals and those carrying intergenerational trauma. I believe balancing individualism with the valuable aspects of collectivism and community is essential to combat the loneliness epidemic.
My Background and Approach
My clinical approach is integrative, drawing from acceptance‑ and mindfulness‑based therapies, cognitive behavioral therapies, and psychodynamic perspectives. I bring warmth, curiosity, and clinical rigor to the work — I aim to meet you where you are. I strive to make a safe, collaborative space aimed to explore all that is weighing on you, make sense of patterns that no longer serve you, and build practical tools to foster resilience and overall wellness. I primarily work with individuals and couples, and periodically offer group therapy. I provide therapy in English, Bengali, and Hindi. Working across languages and cultures is central to who I am as a clinician.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I was born and raised in India and moved to the United States as a young adult for advanced education. Having lived in two countries and cultures for significant parts of my life has shaped a unique, multicultural perspective along with its associated challenges and rewards. My clinical experience spans community mental health and city hospitals in both India and the U.S., where I have worked extensively with underserved and multicultural communities. Multicultural concerns, minority and immigrant experiences, intergenerational trauma, social and racial inequities, acculturative stress, concerns of gender identities and sexual orientation, and the intersectionality of identities are central to my work. I am also particularly committed to supporting South Asian LGBTQ+ individuals. I aim to offer culturally sensitive therapy that fosters cross‑cultural understanding and promotes mental health equity.
