About My Clients
My clients typically have problems with relationships, parenting, anxiety, and depression related to prior trauma. They may be domestic violence survivors, childhood abuse survivors or witnessed a traumatic event. My clients may have been in foster care, or are the foster/adoptive parents of foster children. They may also be on the Autism spectrum or are the parent of children on the spectrum.
My Background and Approach
I earned my master's degree in Social Work in 1994 and have nearly 30 years experience. My approach to therapy is humanistic, holistic, and very simplistic. I believe people come to therapy when their plate gets full. It is my job to help them unload what they are carrying. I try to do that in a warm, caring, validating, encouraging and humorous way. I am direct and very interactive as a therapist. I am located in the greater Lansing area of Michigan, and offer virtual online therapy sessions for residents of Michigan.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I use an evidence based approach to trauma therapy. As a trauma survivor, I enjoy helping clients heal, using an approach that allows you to set the trauma aside and move on with your life.
