About My Clients
My clients are typically women going through two key transitions in their life: emerging adulthood and adjusting to parenthood. They are often really good at taking care of others and not so good at taking care of themselves. I specialize in working with anxiety, self-doubt, perfectionism, boundary and relationship challenges. As well as concerns related to the adjustment to parenthood, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, birth trauma, perinatal loss, and infertility.
My Background and Approach
I draw from mindful self-compassion, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic approaches. What that means is we will explore your thoughts, your stories, and how you experience these things in your nervous system and body. As a therapist, you can count on me as a source of support and validation, to ask you questions, to offer alternative perspectives, and challenge you when needed. I look at concerns through a trauma-informed, feminist, and systems lens, meaning I will acknowledge the systems of oppression and power that intersect with your experience. Therapy is hard work. But it is not only about exploring your struggles and pain, it's also about uncovering your strengths, celebrating the wins, and learning to laugh a little in the process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It is a life-long journey and commitment of mine to unlearn and examine my understanding of the world and my privileges. I'm driven and motivated by the complexities of life, the act of holding multiple truths and living life authentically - even when it's an act of resistance. I'm LGBTQ+ affirming, and social justice oriented.
