About My Clients
Do you feel like you have one foot in many worlds, but belong wholly to none? Have you maybe tried therapy in the past but felt unseen or judged? Are you in a "non-traditional" relationship and want support without having to explain or justify yourself? I may be able to help.
My Background and Approach
In my practice, I strive to create a safe and nonjudgmental space for individuals to be their whole selves so we can work collaboratively to get you living your life to the fullest. I also work with couples/relationships (including queer, poly, queerplatonic, kinky, etc.) to help facilitate healthy communication and connection in all kinds of love. I tailor my approach to every unique person/partnership, rather than approaching therapy as a "one-size-fits-all". I see you as the expert on your own lived experience, and I am here to work with you and add my expertise in mental health to the pool of strengths we collectively hold so we can work together to meet your goals in life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the importance of providing mental health access to all people of different genders, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. As a nonbinary South Asian therapist, I'm passionate about providing therapy to people from backgrounds where mental health is largely taboo, or who have felt misunderstood by therapists in the past, such as immigrants and QTBIPOC. As a member of the QTBIPOC community and an immigrant myself, I have seen how underserved we are and how our nuanced intersectional experiences are often overlooked by many well-meaning mental health professionals. Everyone's experiences are unique, but sometimes we can benefit from a therapist who just "gets it", because they're a part of our community, too. That's why I got into therapy in the first place -- because I didn't see any therapists who were like me when I was growing up. If you saw yourself in any of this, it would be an honor to support you on your mental health journey. Please don't hesitate to reach out.
