About My Clients
I provide individual therapy to adults seeking to better understand themselves, their emotions, and the experiences that shape their lives. I have particular expertise in working with survivors of sexual assault, and I am deeply committed to trauma-informed care. My experience spans working with university students, young professionals, and adults from diverse backgrounds. I am especially attuned to the unique challenges faced by individuals navigating intersecting identities.
My Background and Approach
I offer a nonjudgmental and individualized approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices to support healing, growth, and emotional mastery. My work is grounded in a deep respect for each client’s story, and I aim to provide a space where all aspects of identity are welcomed and affirmed. Above all, I strive to create an environment where clients feel safe enough to be honest and engaged in their own healing. Some sessions might feel more structured and based on skill-building, and others might be more exploratory and focused on building insight.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an Indo-Caribbean psychologist and first-generation professional, I bring lived experience, cultural awareness, and humility to my work. My values include empowering those from all minoritized backgrounds and viewing the problems of my clients within the contexts that they live in and come from. I also believe in the strengths of all people, and using the strengths that you already have in order to create lasting change and mastery over challenges!
