About My Clients
Wanting to be loved and accepted doesn’t make you needy, or extra, or selfish, or weak. It makes you human. In our work together my focus is building a relationship where you feel comfortable exploring what you think and feel, want and need. My style as a therapist is warm, relaxed, and conversational. I use playfulness, curiosity, creativity, and laughter to support the therapy process and I prioritize taking time to get to know you and what's important to you.
My Background and Approach
My clinical experience includes helping individuals and couples work through relationship conflict/concerns, complex trauma, life transitions, anxiety, panic attacks, and depression. I also enjoy exploring sexuality, gender, and identity and specialize in working with bisexual, pansexual, sexually-fluid, bi-curious, and label-free multisexual adults. My work is significantly informed by relational-cultural theory, mindfulness, narrative therapy, and attachment theory. In my work with couples, I am strongly influenced by Sue Johnson’s Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) research. I adapt my approach to care for the unique needs and situation of the clients I work with, and prioritize building a secure and trusting relationship as a foundation for healing.
