CBT centers around the idea that our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all interconnected. Therefore, a change in one domain influences change in the other two. The primary goal of CBT is to shift the way one thinks. This is done by identifying and understanding one’s core beliefs and how these beliefs impact one’s emotional state as well as behavior, and by changing these unrealistic or unhelpful thoughts to become healthier and more adaptive.

EFT places a strong emphasis on identifying, exploring, and working with emotions to develop healthy emotional regulation strategies.
