About My Clients
I work primarily with adults who experience shades of depression and anxiety, attachment wounds, and struggles around life transitions. As an ex-Mormon, I also work with adults that have experienced religious trauma. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I hold space for those who have felt marginalized or “othered”. I have experience working with sex workers and offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space. I am also sex positive, poly friendly/aware, and kink friendly/aware.
My Background and Approach
I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. My therapeutic approach comes from a humanistic, person centered approach, with mindful techniques. Together, we will define a path that will take you in the direction you most value. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is formed through authentic connection and loving presence, and I strive to hold a safe space for curiosity and growth. As a therapist, I bring in my real self. I’m a direct, no-bullshit, yet deeply caring and warm person who will accept you exactly as you are. The approach I take is that of cultivating a healing and safe relationship; one that allows you to show up as you and leave feeling emotionally held and respected.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
With over 10 years of helping people in all walks of life, I have come to realize that what we’re all looking for is safety, respect, and connection. My most favorite aspect of therapy is the way it changes and transforms both people in the room. A word I’ve found to best describe therapy is: relationship. Not only are we changing our relationship to ourselves, we get a beautiful opportunity to create a new kind of relationship with the people around us. The relationship you and I create together in the room is sacred. It can offer you so many moments to be brave, vulnerable, and find new ways to unlearn toxic patterns that you don’t need anymore. Outside of being a therapist, I am a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, reader of books, and petter of cats. I love spending time with my wife and kitty, trying out new recipes, and nurturing my garden to grow and sprout.
