Clinical Psychologist in Richmond, VA

About My Clients

Families usually come to me with questions. A toddler who isn't talking yet. A bright second grader who is falling behind. A teen who struggles socially. An adult who has always wondered whether ADHD or autism explains a lifetime of feeling different. I evaluate clients as young as 15 months through adulthood, with a focus on autism, ADHD, and learning differences. You leave with clear answers, practical recommendations, and a feedback conversation in plain language.

My Background and Approach

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in developmental and diagnostic assessment. I trained at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC, and at Loyola Clinical Centers and Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital in Baltimore. After my clinical internship at Intercommunity Action in Philadelphia, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Assessment and Treatment in Chevy Chase, MD, where I later worked as a staff psychologist before returning home to Richmond. Assessment at my practice goes beyond test scores. I look at the full picture: how you or your child thinks and learns at home, at school, and with other kids. When treatment makes sense, it grows out of what we learn. I offer Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for young children and run Unstuck and On Target, a 12-week executive function group for kids ages 8 to 11. Testing happens in person at my office on Monument Avenue; consultations and feedback sessions can be done online.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I grew up in Richmond, and it means a lot to care for families in my hometown. I believe every person who walks through my door has a story that deserves respect, and that an evaluation should offer real understanding rather than just a label. Neurodivergent children and adults experience the world in their own way, and good assessment honors that. I also believe in honesty. When you call for a free 15-minute consultation, I'll give you a straight read on whether an evaluation makes sense, even if the right next step isn't with me. Families deserve clear information without pressure. And I believe this work is a team effort. I collaborate closely with the Richmond-area pediatricians, teachers, speech therapists, and occupational therapists who know your child, so the recommendations in your report get put to use in real life.
