Anxiety seems to be a widespread issue among human beings. I say-probably too often-that being a person is hard. Anxiety is part of that. While its severity depends on the person, the situation and other factors, it is a gremlin that comes around to get us.
My work history includes community supervision and working as a legal assistant for a criminal defense attorney. After having the opportunity to see how both sides function and spending one-on-one time with individuals who are facing charges or sentencing, I have a unique, compassionate understanding of how to approach individuals in this situation and how to provide the same compassion & support to their loved ones. Everyone I meet is a person first, and I treat them accordingly.
I'm a woman who lives in TX, which is a state that's less-than-favorable in its consideration and treatment of women. In working with clients who identify as women, I hold space for the big feelings often connected to reproductive rights, bodily autonomy, etc. My special areas of interest are the decision to be child-free and coping with familial and social expectations imposed on people who identify as women (marriage, parenthood, caretaking, family-before-career).
