About My Clients
Many of my clients are high-achieving perfectionists who quietly struggle with anxiety, chronic depression and emotional loneliness. They often fear being “too much,” which can lead to patterns of disordered eating, compulsive exercise or overcommitting socially. I work with these concerns using RO DBT and art therapy from a weight-inclusive, Health at Every Size-aligned lens, supporting greater emotional flexibility, openness and more authentic connection.
My Background and Approach
I am an art therapist and Radically Open DBT (RO DBT) clinician specializing in treating eating disorders, disordered eating, perfectionism, chronic depression, anxiety and overcontrol. Many of my clients are high-achieving and self-controlled, yet feel stuck, anxious, emotionally disconnected or overwhelmed internally. I integrate RO DBT, art therapy and somatic approaches to support emotional flexibility, openness and connection. RO DBT is an evidence-based treatment for overcontrol and emotional loneliness, especially for those who have not fully benefited from CBT or standard DBT, or who struggle with emotional inhibition or rigidity. Art therapy offers a nonverbal way to explore patterns in relationships, body image, food and identity. It can reduce avoidance and bypass overthinking to access emotional experience more directly. My approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and grounded in a weight-inclusive, anti-diet perspective aligned with Health at Every Size Principles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe meaningful change happens through authentic connection, curiosity and collaborative work. My approach is humanistic, relational, and grounded in a multicultural, anti-diet and anti-racist lens. I work from a weight-inclusive perspective aligned with the Health at Every Size Principles and am committed to challenging weight stigma and supporting body diversity. I value the role of art-making and embodied awareness in helping clients build flexibility, self-understanding and more authentic connection with themselves and others.
