About My Clients
I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families, offering compassionate, client-centered care in a supportive and welcoming environment. I bring many years of experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds across a variety of settings, including day treatment programs, a homeless shelter for runaway youth, school-based services, clinic settings, and summer camps. Many of the individuals I have worked with have experienced multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
My Background and Approach
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation from UW– La Crosse, with a minor in Psychology, and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Viterbo University, with a focus on substance abuse. My approach is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive, with an emphasis on honoring the whole person while supporting healing, resilience, and growth. I pull from modalities such as IFS, DBT, Play therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and TF-CBT. Common concerns many of the individuals I work with stem from adoption, complex family dynamics, relationships, self-esteem, trauma, depression, and anxiety.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At the heart of my work is a deep belief in fostering meaningful connection and helping people find a path toward fulfillment and joy. Outside of the therapy room, I value time with loved ones, stay curious through reading and continued learning, enjoy exploring new places and trails, and unwind with home-made meals, perfecting the ideal coffee concoction, and cozy moments snuggled up next to my pup.
