About My Clients
I have close to 10 years in the mental health profession providing a variety of services including intensive group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy. I work with children, teens, families, and parents. I ground myself in child development, attachment-focused and trauma-informed care and use humor and my most authentic self as a therapist. I believe that children are well when their adults are well, and work to support not only the child but their caregivers as well.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is unique to each individual. I ground myself in child development, attachment-focused and trauma-informed care and use humor and my most authentic self as a therapist. I am trained in Trauma-Informed Child Parent Psychotherapy (TI- CPP). I integrate creativity and each client’s strengths into our work together. I specialize in supporting children and families navigating anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, and life transitions. Common tools I use include music, art, books, play, and movement to help clients express emotions. I am currently in the process of contracting with all major insurance companies in MN. Please see list of companies I am currently accepting. I also offer SuperBills for clients to submit for reimbursement on their own. Please reach out with any questions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Feeling connected and safe are cornerstones to a good therapeutic relationship. I celebrate and utilize your child's strengths in therapy. I use a developmental lens to understand behavior and appropriately provide intervention based on your individual child and the identified concerns. I use a variety of tools in therapy including play, books, art, sensory supports, movement and talking. Being the primary caregiver of a child is really hard work! We will work together to identify your child's and family system's needs, while exploring solutions and strategies to bring cohesion and understanding to the whole family. Family therapy can be conducted with the child/children present, or with caregivers only.
