About My Clients

Do you find yourself feeling like your plate is overflowing? Are you spending a lot of your time worrying about things that are out of your control? What might it be like to live a life where you are present, calm, and don’t feel pulled in a million different directions every single day? My clinical focus is working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, stress, and/or life transitions. I believe, together, we can help build this life you imagine.

My Background and Approach

I truly believe that the most effective way to make change is by approaching things with a balanced perspective. You don't have to be perfect at anything 100% of the time to live a life full of joy and contentment. My typical therapy style gravitates towards a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Client-Centered approach. As the beloved poet Hafiz tells us, “the words you speak become the house you live in" and I couldn’t agree more. I believe I can help you to recognize some of the unhelpful thought patterns you’ve developed over your lifetime, no doubt leading to uncomfortable emotions and behaviors. I’ve been a Licensed Professional Counselor for five years and working in the mental health field for about eight. Currently, I see individual clients as well as adjunct college courses part-time. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner so staying involved in both the therapy and teaching worlds helps me to fill that love for learning in so many ways.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that people make the best decisions they can with the current information they have. Once we know better, we do better. Until then, we are all doing the best we can. I believe that long-lasting change happens in small, subtle shifts. Sometimes so subtle you don’t recognize it & need someone else to point it out for you. I believe that every single person needs meaningful connection with others. Even those of us that identify as introverts. I believe that every single person has “stuff” that they’re working through or wishes was different about themselves or their life. Being kind & supportive of others (and yourself) will make some of that stuff a bit easier to manage. I believe that multiple things can be true at once and life is not as black & white as we sometimes make it out to be. You can want your life to improve, while loving the life you currently live.
