About My Clients

Life can often feel difficult, and the mental health struggles that we experience may feel like a constant weight on our shoulders. These struggles may come from life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, and trauma. It is my hope to walk alongside you to understand and develop new coping strategies that assist in fostering feelings of safety and control in times when those may be difficult to come by. I work with individuals 18+ with trauma, grief, anxiety, and depression.

My Background and Approach

As a Marine Corps veteran, I understand how difficult and stressful life can become without the proper tools to help us feel better. These tools can range from knowing when to ask for help to breathing and meditation exercises that can lower stress and anxiety. Therapeia Counseling is a center based on utilizing trauma-informed counseling to assist our clients in feeling the most comfortable while discussing events where they felt their most vulnerable. It is my hope to work with my clients to learn and develop tools and strategies throughout their daily lives so that when they feel out of control, they know how to feel better.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that one of the strongest things we can do is ask for help when we feel out of control of our lives and do not see a way through. I grew up in a very religious family where, at times, talking about our emotions was uncomfortable, and the best thing to do was grin and bear it. Then, I joined the military, where emotions were seen as vulnerabilities, especially for women, who were scrutinized for being weaker than men. Because of these experiences, I have struggled with asking for help when I feel out of control or stressed. I have begun to learn about the empowerment that comes with being vulnerable and trusting others, and I hope to empower my clients to feel the same. This is not an easy process, and I am committed to walking with you for as long as you need.
