About My Clients
I primarily work with couples, families, and children navigating relationship challenges, family conflict, life transitions, and trauma. I especially enjoy helping people who feel stuck in the same patterns, struggle to communicate, or are trying to reconnect after difficult experiences. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where everyone feels heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change.
My Background and Approach
As a trauma-informed Marriage and Family Therapist Intern, I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, understood, and respected. Felt safety is at the heart of my work, and I strive to create an environment where you can be honest without fear of judgment. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients understand the different “parts” of themselves that show up in difficult moments. For example, when an argument feels overwhelming, a hurt part might lead you to withdraw or shut down because it learned that pulling away feels safer than risking rejection or further hurt. IFS helps us approach these responses with curiosity rather than shame. When working with couples, I draw from the Gottman Method, emphasizing trust, commitment, communication, and connection. My goal is to help couples understand their patterns and build a stronger foundation for their relationship.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone deserves to be treated with kindness, hospitality, and respect, and that therapy should be a safe and welcoming place for all. Felt safety is central to my work. It is not enough to be safe, we also need to feel safe. For those who have experienced trauma or spent time in survival mode, vulnerability can feel difficult. I work at my clients’ pace, helping them build trust and feel comfortable being vulnerable. My Christian faith has shaped my belief in the dignity and worth of every person. I am happy to incorporate faith when meaningful to a client, while welcoming people of all backgrounds. I am deeply family-oriented and believe we are not meant to navigate life alone. I value connection through family, friendship, community, and chosen family. I am also passionate about mental health access and believe it is a basic human right. I strive to reduce barriers so support feels approachable and attainable.
