My Background and Approach
I am completing her Master’s degree in Social Work at The University of Texas at Arlington, specializing in Mental Health and Substance Misuse, and I provide psychotherapy under direct clinical supervision. Upon graduation, I intend to pursue my licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I operate under a strengths-based perspective and a biopsychosocial framework, and I employ a variety of techniques including client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and emotion-focused therapy (EFT). Stress management and knowledge about how stress impacts physiological functioning and mental health is a strength and passion of mine, and I enjoy discussing ways to positively impact mental health by reducing stress. I want to help clients see who they are and accept themselves first so that they might find healing. I believe that clients are the experts in their situation, and I have the opportunity to learn about their experience and walk alongside them on their journey.
