About My Clients

We live in a complex world, and the journey to finding oneself while experiencing adversity can be very difficult. Many people come to therapy with the hope that they will find a way to learn how to navigate these challenges. As a clinician, I believe that humans all possess an inherent resilience that can guide us through adverse experiences. I believe that being human-centered in unearthing that resilience can help move you from surviving to thriving.

My Background and Approach

As a clinician, I believe that humans all possess an inherent resilience that can guide us through adverse experiences. I specialize in trauma, and I utilize an evidence-based, person-centered, and socially conscious approach to psychotherapy that helps my clients learn ways to activate this existing resiliency. My work places a keen focus on the connection between our emotional wellness and our physical, relational, and environmental responses to stress tolerance. I apply critical race and intersectional theory lenses to my practice. I have worked in a myriad of settings including in patient, outpatient, mobile treatment, school-based, emergency, and telehealth. I incorporate various modalities into my trauma-informed practice to best meet the individual needs of all of my clients. This includes honoring indigenous and cultural practices of importance to my clients, and ensuring your cultural needs are prioritized just as much as your psychological needs.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I aim to foster a therapeutic space that is safe enough to discuss all facets of how our identity is shaped, inclusive of race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, religion, and the expression of oppression and privilege. I will respect and incorporate your value systems and what is important to your sense of overall wellness into our work together. I am the daughter of immigrants, multilingual and queer. I have devoted my career to advancing mental health equity across the United States, and I am lucky to have a large sphere of influence that contributes to dismantling systemic barriers to accessing care. At my core, I identify as a social worker, and staying in practice and true to social work values is important to me to ensure voices of lived experiences continue to inform all facets of my work.
