About My Clients
I specialize in helping people experiencing ADHD related symptoms, chronic pain/illness, and feelings of depression and anxiety. Sometimes those things can show up looking like people pleasing, masking, decision paralysis, time blindness, perfectionism, feeling worthless, burnt out, overwhelm, telling yourself no before someone else can, or feeling stuck. Sometimes we know we want things to be different but we don't even know where to start so nothing changes. That's where I can help you.
My Background and Approach
I like to tailor my approach to each individual client. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy, and I want to make sure I'm using the right modalities for your needs and goals. Since graduating in 2023 with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as being a Certified ADHD Life Coach since 2020, I love utilizing an eclectic blend of modalities. I find that using humor can help ease some anxieties, so regardless of approach I try to incorporate that when appropriate. Your goals will dictate what kind of therapy work we will do together. Sometimes it may be laser focused goals that we try to accomplish by experimenting with different solutions, coping strategies, and lots of therapy homework. Other times it might be more nuanced and existential- exploring and processing past feelings, beliefs, and experiences that make up the narrative of your life, and finding a new narrative that better serves you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe growth happens outside your comfort zone. Obviously are comfort zones are, well, comfortable and a safe place for us to be and are very important to have. Sometimes, though, we get too comfortable and safe and the things that were serving us at one point to foster those feelings of security are no longer needed. It's not to say they were a bad choice, but just like with the changing of the seasons, what works at one point in time may not be a good fit for another. We can always return to those safe spaces if we need to, but often it's okay to let those things go and try something new. I also believe that a lot of the work and things that come up in therapy are easier said than done, so being compassionate with yourself while challenging yourself is important. It's okay for healing to take time. If healing could happen in an hour, you would have already done it, so self compassion is important.
