About My Clients
My clients typically fall into the following categories: 1. Queer and trans people looking for a therapist who shares some lived experience. 2. People who are pregnant, postpartum, trying to conceive, or parenting little kids. 3. People seeking sex therapy. Sometimes, our time together focuses on all three! I love working with queer parents or people who are family-building. I see individuals and couples, as well as polyamorous and ethically non-monogamous folks.
My Background and Approach
I'm trained as a clinical social worker and have practiced in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, community mental health, and private practice. I bring this wide range of experience to my holistic approach as a therapist. I'm comfortable and knowledgeable in helping clients navigate complex systems of care, including fertility treatment, gender-affirming care, and sexual health. My approach as a therapist ranges from traditional cognitive behavioral therapies like CBT, DBT, and ACT, to mind/body work, mindfulness, and self-compassion.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm a white, queer, cisgender woman, and take stock of the privilege and nuance that comes with the identities I hold. I am a strong advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, not only because it is *my* community, but because I believe queer and trans people deserve autonomy, safety, and unconditional love and belonging. I have significantly more privilege than many in my community, and strive to leverage this power to support BIPOC, trans and nonbinary people, and other marginalized communities through my work. I donate my time and labor through Cleveland Radical Therapist Collective, an organization dedicated to making an impact at the local level. I also offer free gender-affirming care assessments and documentation through GALAP Collective. While I do not accept insurance, I am happy to provide a Superbill for reimbursement, and also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots through Open Path as well. I am dedicated to making mental health care accessible how I can.
