About My Clients
It can be difficult to navigate our quickly changing world; many adolescents and young adults struggle to find their bearings and feel confident. I work with a variety of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, and interpersonal relationship skills. In my work, I emphasize individuals' unique strengths, and I view therapy as a collaborative process of meaning making and self discovery. This allows clients to feel a greater sense of freedom and ease in their daily lives.
My Background and Approach
I integrate several approaches from acceptance and commitment, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, and existential theories. With a strong grounding in multicultural and systems-based counseling, I prioritize clients' lived experience. During sessions, I focus on creating a comfortable space for processing painful emotions and offering accessible tools that increase wellbeing. I make it a priority to stay current on evidence based research and use this to personalize the treatment I offer. In the past, I have thoroughly enjoyed working in both inpatient and outpatient clinics, as well as community based mental health settings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I became a therapist because I believe that by healing ourselves, we heal the world around us. I know that each day, we are all just doing our best and using strategies we've learned in the past. It is possible to build a life worth living and plan steps to achieve a greater sense of freedom and ease. I believe in the inclusion and celebration of all people regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or national origin.
