About My Clients
My specialties include anxiety, trauma/PTSD, grief, stress management, and life transitions. I work with individuals, families, adolescents and children from all different cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds.
My Background and Approach
I have a history of working in court-mandated counseling and private practice settings. I have experience working with clients dealing with many life issues. I provide individualized care for everyone who walks through my door. My therapeutic approach is a combination of strength-based, person-centered, and creative integration of evidence-based practices. I bring a wide variety of important traits to my sessions including honesty, trust, nonjudgmental, inclusivity, and empathy. One of the most important aspects to me is creating a safe and comfortable place for you as you share personal and vulnerable parts of your life. I may be the expert on what I have studied, but you are the expert on yourself.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy and counseling is for every single human out there. I believe that we all have the strength inside of us to change and grow, no matter your age or what you have been through. I see this every day in my work as clients have the strength to share about their trauma and inner thoughts and not let those experiences overpower them any longer. I am passionate about working with minorities because I am an Hispanic female. I have seen how difficult it can be to be heard and get help. Through my own therapy as a teenager after the divorce of my parents, I was able to learn more about who I am and manage stressful life changes.
