Poly life is difficult. I have worked with many couples working through the heights of pleasure and the depths of grief; the process includes both! Whether it is the process of how to open the relationship, how to tell your friends/family, or talking about boundaries -- this process is some of my favorite work in therapy.

Gender and sexual expression are wrapped up in so much grief and unlearning. My hope is also to work together to get to the point of unbridled expression and passion ! As a queer woman, this process brings me so much joy to watch clients grow into the most fully expressed version of themselves.

Sex is taboo. Our culture is still learning how to talk about it and I love working with clients that are figuring out parts of their sexuality. Whether that is looking for a more fulfilling sex life, dealing with pain during sex, or mis-matched desire within a relationship. Sex can be multilayered and my hope is to work together to create more safety around it.

I am trained in Marriage and Family therapy which means I am oriented to look at all problems as existing within a system. We exist, and our problems exist, within the system of our family, friends, school, work, etc. In my work with couples, we look at how the relationship has built a pattern of responding to each other. We slowly turn towards adjusting how this system is formatted, and build hope into how we want it to work better for your unique needs.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent years working with the body. I am a yoga teacher, a tantric practitioner, and trained in assisted one-on-one stretching. The body and mind are inextricably wound. My background in working with the body aids in my knowledge of mindfulness in session. We will work to understand this incredible connection and use this information to heal.

The corner stone of all therapy is understanding how your emotions are linked to your actions. Being able to mindfully and gently look at our actions in the context of learned emotionally charged habits is how healing begins to take place. I am trained in EFT and use it, along with Restoration therapy, as one of my main modalities in treatment.
