My ideal client is someone who is navigating issues related to alcohol use, anxiety, trauma, identity issues, and/or major life shifts. Feeling stuck due to guilt, anger, or pain, they've prioritized others over their well-being. My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience, I, Madeleine Zimmerman, bring a wealth of expertise to Kinship Care & Therapy. My background includes a Master's in Social Work from USC, specializing in Social Change and Innovation. My approach is client-centered, utilizing evidence-based modalities like DBT, IFS, SFBT, CBT harm reduction, systems approach and trauma-informed care to empower clients in achieving their personal goals and fostering resilience. With a warm, supportive demeanor, I strive to create a safe space where clients can explore, heal, and thrive, ultimately finding strength and growth in their journey towards mental wellness.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a steadfast ally for Black Lives, I believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every individual. My commitment to social justice extends beyond my professional role, as I actively engage in initiatives supporting diverse communities, including volunteering for Boys and Girls Club and leveraging my skills in homeless services to care for our houseless neighbors. I'm dedicated to creating a world where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued, and I strive to embody these values in both my personal and professional life.
