About My Clients
You’ve worked hard to succeed professionally, but still struggle with self-doubt, pressure, or feeling like you always have to prove yourself. Maybe setting boundaries with family or friends brings guilt or anxiety, or racial stress and current events leave you emotionally exhausted. If you’re a BIPOC professional seeking support with anxiety, relationships, identity, and balance, therapy with me may be a good fit.
My Background and Approach
My experiences in various settings (residential facilities, corrections, drug rehabilitation, inpatient) inform a grounded, thoughtful approach to therapy – one that attends to development, power, identity, and the broader systems that shape mental health. I work collaboratively and intentionally, offering care that is responsive to both individual history and present-day context. Therapy can feel intimidating. It requires honesty, emotional risk, and a willingness to explore parts of yourself shaped by both early experiences and current realities. In our work together, you can expect to be supported as you work toward your goals and challenged in an intentional way to truly foster growth and insight.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a cisgender, Black and Chicana, woman. I work primarily with BIPOC folks due to the cultural stigma around mental health that is often common in these communities. I recognize that our various identities influence how we perceive the world and how we show up in it. In professional settings, and in society overall, there is rarely a consistent space where we can show up authentically, where all of our identities are genuinely accepted. In addition to our identities, we have various experiences that take root and shape us in nuanced ways. I aim to provide a space where you feel comfortable addressing those nuances and helping you make sense of it all when things feel unclear. Therapy should be a place where you don't have to wear a mask or sugarcoat things. I welcome your frustrations, anger, confusion, and grief while looking forward to celebrating your wins and growth along the way.
