About My Clients
I specialize in working with people who feel disconnected from their bodies and themselves as a result of perfectionism, anxious thought spirals, disordered eating, general stress, depression, body image distress, burnout, or obsessive thoughts. I especially enjoy working with young adult women and mothers who identify as emotionally sensitive, people-pleasers or overachievers.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in the eating disorder field for several years in peer support as well as group, individual and intake therapist roles. My approach to therapy is relational, client-led, strengths-based and rooted in principles of self-compassion and body liberation. I often draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), parts work and somatic and harm-reduction concepts. I am currently pursuing additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and maternal mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a social worker, I believe mental health exists within political systems of oppression (capitalism, patriarchy, white supremacy, colonialism, ableism, anti-fat bias, among others); therefore, true liberation and healing must occur on both individual and collective levels.
