About My Clients
I work with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or trauma. I offer individual outpatient therapy weekly and strive to meet all of my clients where they are at. We will work collaboratively in exploring some of the core issues at hand and how we can go about regaining a sense of control and comfort within yourself.
My Background and Approach
I utilize a person centered, trauma informed, compassion focused, and skills-based approach in all of my sessions to help treat depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. I have experience working in acute mental health services and outpatient settings, particularly with life adjustments, mood disorders, suicidal ideation, and self-harming behaviors. I have received training in DBT and use my background in expressive arts therapy to encourage clients to explore their creative sides as a form of healing. Depending on the treatment goals, I will also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Play Therapy. During treatment, while respecting your individuality and personal beliefs, I will help you learn more about yourself and gain new skills to improve your overall mood and functioning.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my professional work, I value the importance of trust in the therapeutic relationship. I believe that genuine therapeutic rapport, growth, and success cannot happen without trust. In order to foster this growth in the therapeutic relationship, I believe this starts with authenticity, active listening to understand, and offering empathy. I am a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and I am queer and racial justice allied. I aim to offer a space that is safe and welcoming to all of those in diverse communities.
