About My Clients

I see you, scouring through profiles to find the right therapist, and I know that can feel daunting. Deciding to embark on this journey is a big step, sometimes accompanied by uncertainty or apprehension. If you've been grappling with persistent feelings of emptiness, feeling stuck in the past, or finding yourself overwhelmed by stress and anxiety, know that you're not alone in this struggle. Many of my clients come to me with concerns such as these.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in an integrative therapy approach that acknowledges the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. Language is at times limiting, so alternative modes of expression can facilitate deeper understanding and growth. My training is rooted in art therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed care. I have worked with many clients, from kids to adults, who come to therapy feeling stuck, unable to escape past traumas or move past really deeply ingrained beliefs that hold them back. I have such an interest in how out brains work when it comes to these things, and I think that has a lot to do with how powerful it can be when I explain to someone that what is going on in their head is so normal, and its physical-- it's brain science. I can't tell you how many times I've had people say to me "I feel crazy". You're far from it. Try instead: being a human in a crazy world.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am first and foremost a human myself. Through my own therapy I have learned so much and grown so much, so I know firsthand how powerful therapy can be. If you are carrying pain inside of you I want you to experience what it’s like to face that, to let it know you see it, and to let the weight of it go, like I've done for myself. I believe that we are all capable of that kind of healing and growth, even if you're having trouble believing that yourself right now. Sometimes it can take time, because we only know what we know. As someone who has recovered from disordered eating, I work from a HAES approach and have enjoyed helping others work to accept the bodies they live in. I've experienced severe burnout that really changed so much of how I viewed myself and the world, so I'm also passionate about helping others prevent their own burnout. I think we all carry around quite a bit that we don't share with the world for many reasons. Let's lighten the load a bit.
