Anxiety is a royal mind fuck sometimes. It comes from places, experiences and it causes so many issues for us. We can go from being completely fine to not in a hot second, without warning. It doesn't have to be this way. By learning to manage your anxiety you gain control over these thoughts that plague you, keep you from sleeping, and keep you from enjoying your life. By managing your anxiety effectively we can deal with other issues, too.

Whew. Self-esteem is a big one. You'd like to think it's pretty good, but if you really took a moment to think about it, your self-esteem and self-compassion (yup, they are different) are total garbage. And isn't it a wonder why we struggle with healthy relationship, hell, healthy self-care, boundary setting...all of it! It all comes down to how we feel about ourselves. Let's get your self-esteem back and watch other areas of our lives improve. You gotta love yourself, Honey.

Ladies, we are unique. We are fucking amazing, really. We do some amazing things with our bodies and our minds. Why wouldn't it make sense that our mental health is also different? We need special attention to our bodies and minds in order to feel well loved, cared for and understood. Who better understands a woman than another woman? Women get women better than anyone else. We just get how each other's minds work. Work with someone who understands your circumstances and needs.

EMDR is my new favorite treatment. I hear my clients say "but I haven't had any trauma." Did someone say something mean to you when you were younger? Trauma. Do you say bad things to yourself sometimes? That comes from trauma. Trauma doesn't have to be something huge, it can be the smallest, seemingly most innocent of interactions that creates lasting stress. This along with Mindfulness is the perfect "prescription" for many of the things that plague us, especially women.

Mindfulness is beautiful. It's using guided meditation and breathing exercises to control what we think about. Mind blown: we do NOT have to think about everything that comes into our mind. We can choose to put it aside and deal with it later. Easier said than done, MacKenzie. Yes, that's true, but by learning these techniques you can do just that. Sleep better. Feel better. Think better. Mindfulness is the key.
