About My Clients
I take a collaborative approach and have experience working with children, teens, and adults to address a variety of disorders. These include stress, trauma, grief, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders.
My Background and Approach
There are always solutions for problems that we encounter, even the problems that we have been stuck with for quite some time. Though, there is no quick fix or one-size approach either. Therapy is a collaborative healing process to improve functioning in several areas of our life. The treatment methods I implement are evidence-based. My training has mainly focused on behavioral and cognitive-behavioral, and strategic approaches. I implement psychoeducation and interventions to address the way we think and behave. Some examples are mindfulness techniques and cognitive restructuring. Ultimately, interventions are individually tailored to your needs.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Mental health should be a priority and maintained. I love to educate about disorders, especially anxiety, because the more we understand something it is easier to tackle. Having a healthy support network and foundation is important for our mental health. Sometimes we have to take extra steps to make that happen. My immediate family has been my strongest motivatior. Being a mother of 3 young ones, wife, and doggy mom, I have learned a lot about myself and the influence my actions, decisions, and beliefs have on my family. I highlight self-care and setting appropriate boundaries at home and in my practice. Creating a safe space for people is one of the most important aspects of therapy as well.
