About My Clients
I truly love my work as a counselor and feel honored to be a part of the lives of the individuals, couples, and families with whom I work. I have been through counseling myself at various times in my life and know that it can be a challenging process that asks us to open up in ways we may not be used to and invites us to be vulnerable. Collaboration and a sense of safety are always at the forefront of my work with clients.
My Background and Approach
I use a strengths-based systems approach to therapy that incorporates the influence of our relationships (past and present), including our relationship with ourselves. I use experiential methods, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, to guide clients in exploring their experiences and relationships and have a safe place to experience and discover emotions. I also incorporate CBT and DBT to help clients learn and practice skills, gain new insights and explore their values and identity. My work is trauma-informed and may include somatic interventions such as breathing and movement exercises.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
While we are all doing the best we can with the skills and experiences we have, sometimes we need some extra support navigating life and relationships, to learn new skills, or to have a safe space in which to process experiences, explore who we are, gain insights, or rebuild our sense of self and meaning.
