About My Clients
Are you feeling stuck in old relationship patterns, finding yourself avoiding painful feelings, managing symptoms of mood issues, anxiety, depression or navigating life stressors and trauma? I work with teens and adults to move through and heal from painful life moments, build confidence and self-esteem, and to connect with their values and identity.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is warm, non-judgemental and collaborative as I aim to support each individual striving to make positive changes in their lives and move through difficult times. With a belief that internal resources are already within each person, I focus on cultivating and strengthening what is innately in each person to support them in realizing their goal for themselves, their families, and their lives. I draw from a number of evidence-based approaches to support, educate, and empower the individual needs of my clients, including EMDR, CBT, DBT, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. I am passionate about blending the latest neuroscience with empirically based and well-researched theories to support my clients. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach, but that with committed and experienced professional support, it is possible to move forward and to heal.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I currently provide services under the supervision of Mary Vice, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (110258). It is a brave thing to face our thoughts and feelings, and in a world where opportunities for distractions are endless, many of us live our lives avoiding painful feelings and experiences. Feelings like shame, hurt, fear, sadness, embarrassment, anger, and resentment can seem overwhelming, but they don't have to be. I believe that for many of us, avoiding pain, both our own pain and the possible pain of people we love, can keep us from living our authentic, full lives. With the support of a compassionate, caring, and experienced professional we can move through and learn from pain without being overwhelmed and controlled by us. I am here to support you along that journey, it's one you don't have to walk alone.
