My Background and Approach
My professional journey in the mental health field began with community work. I started my career in case management and mobile therapy, supporting individuals in their homes and communities. This early experience grounded me in understanding the systemic barriers often faced, and the importance of meeting clients where they are—emotionally, culturally, and practically. Later, I transitioned to areas of chronic and severe mental health needs such 72 -hours psychiatric holds and substance use dual diagnosis. My evaluation approach is both comprehensive and person-centered. Each assessment is designed to understand the full picture of an individual’s functioning—not just symptoms, but strengths, lived experiences, and context. The foundation of my approach is rooted in the instrumental impact I believe evaluations have. My evaluations include-structure, evidence-base, holistic understanding, practical recommendations, transparency timeliness and reliability.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that mental health care should be accessible, compassionate, and grounded in the understanding that every person’s story matters. At its core, the mental health field is about helping individuals gain clarity, heal from difficult experiences, and build meaningful lives that align with their strengths and values. I also believe in the power of early intervention, honest communication, and culturally responsive care. Mental health is not “one-size-fits-all,” so I approach every client with curiosity, respect, and a genuine desire to understand their perspective. Healing is most effective when clients feel seen, heard, and empowered to participate in their own growth. I believe psychological evaluations are one of the most powerful tools in the mental health field because they provide clarity where there is confusion and direction where there is uncertainty.
