About My Clients

My clients are parents who don't want to wait on a waitlist for months or years. They have felt dismissed when they've expressed concerns and want better answers to help support their child. Or they feel at a loss for how to help their child and feel like their preschooler is running the house. They're tired of yelling and they've tried a million different parenting strategies and nothing is working. Whether it's testing or therapy, we can work together to find the answers and support you need.

My Background and Approach

I've worked with children and families for over 12 years in therapy and testing. I specialize in comprehensive testing to figure out what's underneath the symptoms and help kids better understand the unique ways they learn and process information. I help parents know what resources and supports are most likely to help their child, and explain results in ways that make sense. In therapy, I coach parents to develop warm relationships and appropriate limits with their child and give feedback and support every step of the way. I graduated with my Ph.D. in educational psychology in 2013. I have worked with children and families in schools, pediatric offices, and hospitals, including the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Munroe-Meyer Institute at University of Nebraska Medical Center, and Children's Nebraska. I hold an endorsement in infant mental health and am a Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) certified therapist and trainer.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all have the capacity for insight and change, and sometimes we need a little outside perspective to help us get where we want to be. I believe all children deserve to grow up in supportive, loving environments that help them become the best version of themselves. I am passionate about providing quality, compassionate care with respect for all. I believe in promoting social and racial justice and approach my work with cultural humility. I have professional and volunteer experiences related to children with chronic illnesses as well as families coping with grief. I have a special passion for pediatric oncology patients and their families. As an infant mental health mentor and parent of two young children myself, I know parenting can be tough, and we want to "get it right." I don't think there's any one right way; the right way is what works for your family. I combine your goals and values with my professional expertise. Reach out to find out more about how I can help!
