About My Clients
We all struggle from time to time. Mental health is about finding a balance in your life and not allowing extremes to take over your life.
My Background and Approach
I have a double master's degree in rehabilitation and behavioral counseling. I have worked with Brain Injured, Chronic Disease Management, Depression, Grief and Loss, Anxiety, OCD, ODD, Abuse and trauma, Family conflict, Anger management, and many personality disorders. I have enjoyed working with ages 5 through 101. I am very Cognitive Behavioral in my approach by nature and have learned to match my approach with techniques from many disciplines as they are deemed most effective for particular issues people are in need of addressing in therapy
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Our personal beliefs and convictions make us who we are however, I am convinced people of any age can learn new ways to manage better and move forward in life. Often people suffer in silence, so no one thinks they are crazy or sick. I wish more people would acknowledge when their life is unmanageable and seek out help, even if it is for one or two sessions. I am a big fan of Short term Solution-focused therapy. I believe kindness, gratitude, and paying it forward, goes a long way in making our communities a better place to live and each of us a happier person.
