About My Clients
If you are a hopeful, expecting, new, seasoned, or grieving parent, you're in the right place. If you're feeling depressed, anxious, angry, irritable, alone, having difficulty eating or sleeping, having mood swings or scary thoughts, or feeling like you just don't recognize yourself anymore, I'm here to tell you that you're NOT alone, there IS hope, and I can help. You CAN overcome your struggles, enjoy being a new parent, bond with your child, feel confident, AND feel like yourself again.
My Background and Approach
As a registered nurse and psychotherapist, I take an integrative and holistic approach to treatment. Taking a comprehensive look at your relevant medical and mental health history we will collaboratively create the best and most comprehensive treatment plan for you. There are many therapeutic modalities and interventions to choose from, such as behavioral based interventions, mindfulness, and emotion regulation. We will work together to choose the most effective combination for you. We may also discuss potential adjunct providers that may benefit your overall health as well. I have advanced training in perinatal mental health and have a passion for helping clients who are struggling with miscarriage or loss, life transitions, and the challenges of pregnancy and postpartum. Certification through Postpartum Support International (PMH-C or perinatal mental health certification) will be completed this year, 2019.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Having struggled with my own mental health, particularly after our first child was born, it is important to me that all moms and families have access to and receive specialized perinatal mental health care. It is my desire to help as many families as possible grow and thrive.
