My Background and Approach
Lyndsey specializes in trauma treatment, neurodivergent issues including low support need autism ("high-functioning " autism, or formerly Aspergers syndrome), executive dysfunction issues and Queer/Trans identity issues. Lyndsey utilizes a mixture of person-centered, existential, narrative, CBT, DBT, ACT, trauma-based and informed, and mindfulness based theories and interventions. Lyndsey can offer “preliminary” autism and adhd diagnoses, a sort of “peace of mind” diagnostic process. These “preliminary diagnoses “ can help you on your acceptance and unmasking journey, help you open a dialogue with other professionals and people in your life and can be used to discuss potential benefits and accommodations for work, school, and life but do not serve as official diagnoses and cannot always be used solely for things like work or school accommodations or disability/government assistance. They can also write one time letters (Gender Affirming/ESA).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a trans/non-binary and neurodivergent clinician who believes that everyone deserves to make meaning out of their lives and experiences. I treat the individual at an individual level while also working from a systems or Liberation Psychology framework of educating and changing systems to effect change when possible.
