About My Clients

It is my belief that aging is a natural process with unique challenges. As the aging population continues to grow the need for comprehensive mental health care also grows. One of the challenges older adults face is distinguishing normal aging from mental illness. Age, gender, and sexuality along with generational factors, can result in a mixture of anxiety, depression, and issues of self-worth. It is my goal to assist clients with their social, emotional and psychological wellbeing.

My Background and Approach

I have been a Social Worker for the past 12 years, my passion for joining in the fight for diversity, inclusion, and the rights of sexual minorities make me an advocate for my clients. I use psychotherapy along with personal experience and a unique perspective combined with theories and evidence-based treatments. My therapeutic style is centered around respect and empathy. I am open minded and have a non- judgmental attitude. I am interested in learning about you, your experiences, memories, and personal beliefs whether they be cultural, spiritual or lifestyle based. My aim is to help you reach your goals, using an integrative approach to understand the issues that led you to seek therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we all experience trauma, and that pain is a profound life lesson. In the words of Author Rick Warren “We are products of our past, but we don’t have to be prisoners of it”. Living a purposeful life can bring a sense of control, general satisfaction and contentment to our lives. I can help you explore where you have been and where you are going, assist you in setting goals, understanding your own beliefs, and finding purpose that can be incorporated into a life that is satisfying and uniquely your own.
