EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a therapy for trauma. I am qualified to provide this treatment through telehealth, and have found it to be highly effective. EMDR helps the brain to reprocess distressing memories so they lose their emotional intensity without you having to discuss the traumatic event in detail. Clients have reported relief in as few as one or two sessions.

Anxiety often stems from avoiding a particular issue or stressor. I am available to help you explore whatever is weighing on you, in a safe and confidential manner. Having a compassionate, skilled therapist can make all the difference as you make the courageous step to address your fears and concerns.

As a Licensed Addictions Counselor in Colorado, I can help you to address whatever alcohol, drug, or behavioral addiction(s) you may struggle with. Therapy can provide a non-judgmental, compassionate, and directed approach to modify behavior, try harm reduction measures, or explore underlying trauma (when appropriate). Solution-focused brief therapy is exactly what is sounds like. We focus on the presenting issue and use the strengths and skills you already possess to help you move forward. Sometimes clients elect to delve more deeply into underlying (or childhood) issues or traumas, which is fine, but often times people choose to stay focused on the here and now.

I have been working with clients for many years who are in various stages of substance abuse or behavioral addictions. Providing support in a non-judgmental, compassionate way is very important, and clients have reported feeling safe when working with me. I am open to what you need, as some people are more comfortable with moderation management, others with harm reduction, and some with a goal of abstinence.
