About My Clients
You may be queer, neurodivergent, chronically ill or living outside other people’s expectations. You might be working through anxiety, grief, trauma or burnout alongside family rejection, relationship difficulties or the exhaustion of having to explain yourself. I work with individuals and couples, including people in non-monogamous and mixed-neurotype relationships. You won’t need to make yourself easier to understand here. To work with me, book a first session through my website.
My Background and Approach
My style is conversational, creative and down-to-earth. I’ll take what you’re going through seriously, but therapy with me doesn’t have to feel formal. There can be room for humor, curiosity and trying something a little different when talking alone isn’t getting us anywhere. I draw from art therapy, IFS, psychodynamic therapy, CBT and DBT, along with mindfulness and narrative approaches. We might look at how the past is showing up in the present, get curious about the different parts of you that pull in opposite directions or find practical ways to handle emotions, relationships and everyday tasks. I’ll follow your pace while still gently challenging you, helping you notice patterns and checking that the work feels useful. I also work with activists, community organizers, sex workers and people experiencing state repression. I’m comfortable talking about unconventional relationships and ways of living without treating difference as the problem.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent and an artist, with my own experience of chronic pain, caregiving, grief and mental health recovery. I know what it can be like to move through systems that weren’t built with you in mind. I won’t assume that the goal of therapy is to make you more conventional, productive or acceptable to other people. Outside of being a therapist, I work as a puppeteer and clown and studied herbal medicine for four years. Creativity and play are important parts of my life, and they sometimes find their way into my work. Therapy can hold big emotions and difficult histories without losing sight of humor, imagination or the parts of you that are still capable of surprise.
