About My Clients
My ideal client is someone in search of emotional healing and personal growth. I offer individual telehealth sessions to adults experiencing emotional struggles related to stress, anxiety, trauma and abuse, depression, substance misuse, grief and loss, difficulty with relationships, self-esteem, and adjustment to major life transitions.
My Background and Approach
I work from a Trauma-Informed and Patient-Centered approach. I am trained in Psychodynamic Therapy - which is my passion. Psychodynamic therapy is based on the idea that past experiences, particularly childhood experiences, influence our feelings, emotions, and behaviors. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which I learned at the BECK Institute in Philadelphia. This approach is an evidence-based therapy that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thinking patterns that affect our feelings, emotions, and behaviors. In addition, I am trained in Eyes Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - an Evidenced-Based therapy for the treatment of trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance use. I am bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and enjoy working with people from different cultures. I strongly believe in the power of psychotherapy as an amazing resource in helping us find confidence and restore our sense of emotional balance and fulfilment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a person and as a clinician, I am characterized by being warm, kind, and supportive. I have a tireless desire to work for those in need of emotional healing and personal growth. Those who know me describe me as caring, compassionate, understanding, empathic, highly dedicated, motivated, person-centered, and trauma-focused. I believe in people and the importance of developing meaningful interpersonal relationships. I value family, friendship, honesty, and transparency. I am bi-lingual in English and Spanish and enjoy working with people from different cultures. I love animals, particularly dogs and horses - they offer us unconditional love and are amazing healers.
